My hubby and I went out to Van Duesen Gardens in Vancouver yesterday to see the Zimbabwe Stone Carving Displays through the gardens. I only took a few photos of the flowers there, mostly the statues which I will feature in the next few days.
Here are some of the flowers I saw, and I only know the names of a couple of them so please feel free to put names to the others!
This flower was a bee magnet!
Hollyhocks, love the blood red colour!
Purple Alium.
Not sure what this or the next photo is!

Amazing pics, WOW! Haven't seen Hollyhocks since 1981!
Very excited to learn that you got to see Zimbabwe carvings. Was impressed with the beautiful artistry I saw while there. Wondered what would become of the carvings? An OMG kind of day.
Thanks Lorna! Love, Jane
The first one is so unusual! Hollyhocks grow around here, as well as phlox and some varieties of alium.♥♫
Nice macro photos.
Regards!
I wonder if the last flower is a begonia...
I know that alium as sea holly - I love them!
The flowers are lovely, as are the carvings! I sometimes wonder how people can have the patience to carve stone...
Superb set of images!! Great eye!
