Today's Flowers

The water lilies along the lake edge in Mill Lake Park are all blooming right now.

We went to the Bloedal Conservatory in Vancouver yesterday looking for a cool place to take photos on a pouring rain day. This Calla Lily came out of the camera this way, I thought it kind of looked like a painting so here it is for you. I kind of like it this way!!

And lastly, a couple of white lilies from the Conservatory. It is a beautiful rainy day place to visit and enjoy. I will be putting up some more photos from it in the days to come.

Skywatch Friday

I finally have some semblance of photos back on my computer after the big crash!! It's been so long since I was last able to post some pictures, hope you all have not given up on me in the meantime!!

This was taken last weekend at Rocky Point Park. It was later in the evening and the light was getting sweet.  We weren't the only ones watching the skies.

We did not get to spend too much time at this park but it warrants going back for further exploration. We were on our way home from Vancouver and thought we would just stop for a quick look.

Still here!!

In case you were wondering what happened here to me and why I have not blogged lately, I am still here!!
My computer crashed and I had to buy another one. My computer was getting increasingly hard to deal with for a couple of weeks, we tryed all the repair things you do when your computer acts up, but it was an eventual thing. It crashed.
I bought another laptop and am getting it up and going. Its hard when you lose your info such as address books, favorites etc. It will take a while to get some of that back. I have not got my photos started, and I lost my Photoshop pirated edition on my dead computer, so will probably have to buy a real version. So I wanted to come here and let everyone know that I am still here and will be back soon with photos etc. Thanks to everyone who visits my blog and lets me know what you are thinking about it. Your visits matter to me, and I am looking forward to being back full force!!

Macro Monday

I thought for Macro Monday it was about time I gave everyone another dose of Scarf, my rescue kitten. It's been a while since she has been here and she's grown quite a bit since I introduced her here. You can see earlier pictures of her if you click on the Scarf tags.

About the only time I can get her to pose is when she is tired and finished playing. She doesn't just walk from place to place, she runs at full tilt and jumps over everything. Or rather flys!! If I tryed to clean that little gunky on her eye, she would scratch me or bite. She still has to learn to be gentle and trust.

The white cat in the right hand corner is Speed, our 12 year old cat. He is napping too. She exhausts him with her constant playing/scraping.

When all the scraping and fighting is done its time for a nap. You can see how much bigger Speed is than Scarf. She is catching up quick though!!

Color Carnival

This is my first time participating in Color Carnival. I took this picture at a recent Rock and Gem Show I attended. This is a Onyx Mortar and Pestle. I loved the colours of the stone.

Watery Wednesday

Well, we are back from our mini holiday to Campbell River now and we had a great time. It was so nice to get away for a few days and see my cousins as well. It has been about 8 years or so since I was last up in Campbell River. Here are a few pictures taken at Departure Bay as we were waiting for the Ferry to take us over to Vancouver Island.

The Marina on the outskirts of the Ferry Terminal. Once, a Ferry lost control when coming into the harbour and took out a lot of the boats here in the marina. No one was hurt at the time.

Another view of a section of the Marina....

The Ferry heading out here to Nanaimo.

Watery Wednesday

The other day when we went to Minter Gardens for the day and got rained out, we did manage to get some watery pictures before we got chased away with the rain!
A garden shed at the top of the hill, and a beautiful waterfall cascading down the hill.

Road Accidents Compilation

I don't usually share videos on my blog. I found this video and watched it earlier in the day. It was one one of the most shocking, sobering sad disheartening graphic videos I have ever seen. In its seven minutes it moved me from shock, disbelief, tears and grief that this kind of carnage really goes on on our roads. I should know it too, I worked for years in Ambulance Services.

Please drive safely on our roads. You have precious cargo in your vehicle and so do I. So what if it takes you an extra minute to arrive at your destination, at least you will arrive there. Slow down, people. For God's sake, slow down.

Macro Monday

By accident we found a Ukrainian Festival this weekend to go to see. When I think of Ukrainian, I think of Perogies and I think of Easter eggs.
I experienced both of them, but I didn't take pictures of the perogies I ate!! So here is a picture of the eggs instead. My hubby bought me seven decorated eggs, and here are a few of them.
I collect eggs and have for quite a few years. Some of these eggs have been in my collection for a bit.

Today's Flowers

Yesterday we went out to Minter Gardens in Chilliwack to spend the day. Unfortunately the weather had completely different plans for us and about five minutes after arriving it started to rain. And rain. And more rain.... We bought our season's passes so if we had to leave because of the rain it was not going to be heartbreaking. We went to the restaurant and had some lunch, sitting inside in warmth and dryness watching the rain fall, finally deciding it was not going to stop and left after lunch. About ten miles down the road of course the rain stopped and the sun came out but by then we had discovered a Ukrainian Festival and we spent the rest of the day there.
We did manage to snap some flowers pictures inside the entrance of Minter Gardens though. Salvia in a container garden.
Delicate budding flowers of Hens and Chicks.
