Its been a wonderful day today, out all day in the glorious sunshine with my hubby. I took my camera with me but there just did not seem to be any occasions where I had to take it out for pictures. So I don't have anything to post for here!!
I read another blogger's post the other day http://charlaneg.blogspot.com/ or Ramblins, and she posted a list of her 100 or more favorite things, so thought instead I would post a list of today's favorite things, seeing as how it was such an awesome day.
1. Spending the day with my best friend.
2. Sleeping in a bit and waking up to sunshine finally pouring in the bedroom. It rains a lot here!
3. Coffee with brown sugar and cream.
4. My new PopPhoto magazine.
5. Going out for breakfast to the Phoenix Diner. My hubby played Bejeweled with the diner's five year old son while we were there. I love seeing them play, it's become a every saturday thing to go there for Breakfast.
6. My Omelette loaded with fresh veggies and gooey cheese.
7. Marmalade on my toast.
8. And another cup of coffee!
9.Walk through town to go and see the weekly Farmer's Market.
10. Seeing all the bright, fresh farmers vegetables. Colourful peppers, purple eggplants, garlic, onions, mushrooms and so many herbs. The sun shining down, warm and the plethora of wondrous scents in the air.
11. Tasting homemade relishes and salsas on corn chips at the various stands, All the different home made jams and jellies. It's hard to know what to get.
12. Face painted children running around, sun dresses, cute sandals. Lots of energy abounding.
13. Back to the car and on the road again. There is another farmer's market in the next town over.
14. This market is twice the size, so much to see.
15. Artisan breads, scones, muffins!
16. Home made jewelry.
17. Home made aprons, pottery, crafts.
18. Chalk art, budding artists hard at work.

This and That
One of my favorite things about this season is the fall colours. Another of my favorite things are the leaves that fall off the trees and form nice crisp leaves on the ground to walk through.
No matter what my day has been like, I can always feel lifted up just by taking a walk on a cool fall day and enjoy the colours of the season.
This season speaks to me of slowing down, taking stock of everything in my life to be grateful for, enjoying the moment because it won't be here much longer and making preparations for things to come. Soon enough the weather will turn, the days get longer and darker and colder but for today I am enjoying this time, this season, this moment.

Update!!
Just an update for everyone, Its been a few days since my last one.
I am out at the internet cafe again, enjoying some Mexican Tortilla Soup and a Chai Tea Latte at the same time as checking e-mails, catching up on blogs and lastly but not least, reading my Photography text in preparation for tonight's class. I have my pictures of slow and fast shutter speed, but cannot put them up here as they are on the external drive at home. I will get them for you though.
We are patiently, okay not, waiting for our internet to be hooked up by a new service provider this coming Saturday. By that time it will be almost a month without internet, which has been very inconvenient. Our entire home business is hooked up with the rotten service, and for us to be mad enough at them to change all that is wild. All our business cards, brochures, posters, rack cards, everything has email addresses on it and it will all have to be changed. I hope it will be all worth it in the end. We depend on the internet for quite a lot with our business. So you can imagine the amount of time we have had to take it to the internet cafe to get it done.
Today sure feels like fall. Its the first day that really feels like it. I went to Vancouver this morning for a doctor's appointment and came out to pouring pelting rain. I went to the closest Starbucks to wait out the deluge but it wasn't ending so ended up having to buy myself an umbrella just to walk the mile or so to my car. The freezing levels around here dropped to 1500 feet so snow was coming down in the mountains such as Whistler and Blackcomb. That is a little close for comfort!! The house is cool enough to have to wear sweaters and any colder and maybe the heat will have to go on. Hard to believe that September is out after tomorrow.
Everyone is thinking of Halloween at work. We have picked a theme for the grouphome of the Four Seasons. We have four clients, each will represent a season and the two caregivers will be day and night. What do you think?? Our company has an annual party we all dress up for and there are awards for best themes and costumes. Any other ideas out there?

This and That
1)Its been over a week since I've been able to get back to this blog. Our internet service is not working even though our internet provider had been out to the house and supposedly fixed the problem. The internet was gone I am sure before he even got to the end of the street. They phoned the next day with one of thier automated surveys enquiring about the service call. Push 1 for yes and 2 for no, eight questions all about was the technician friendly, introduce himself, tell us what he was doing. Were we happy with the service the internet provider gives?? Had to answer 2 to most of the questions. Not one question though about whether or not the service call actually rectified the problem. Well, it worked for about ten minutes and not since. So its been a couple of weeks and no internet. I got fed up with the whole thing after the automated call and am now switching internet service providers. We have to wait until the third of October though for that and then follow after with changing email addresses etc. We changed our phone over as well and added a digital package to our television, all from the same provider. I hope it solves the problems we have right now doing this drastic move.
2)On the other hand I get to bring my laptop down to the Internet Coffee Shop and enjoy a Chai Tea Latte while I catch up on my mail and post a blog post here!! Thats good!!
3)I started a Digital Photography course this past Tuesday here at the Fraser Valley University!! I am really excited to be doing this!! My first assignment this week is Shutter Speed. Take pictures depicting slow and fast shutter speeds and bring them for critique next week. I'll try and post them here too when I take them!! Shutter speed has always confounded me. I like my photo subjects to stand still please!!!
4)Lots of car problems lately. We went to one of my staff's wedding last Sunday, had major car problems getting to Grouse Mountain for the wedding and were forced to leave right away after the ceremony to try and get home before it got dark. We made it in time, good thing because we had no lights, no power to the fans, the windows etc. We have replaced the starter, the alternator and still are having wierd electrical problems despite that, so the mechanic is going to have to be visited now.
5)My 10 year anniversary is in two days!! I would marry my bear all over again in a heartbeat!! I wonder how many people would say that about thier spouse??
6)Last and never least, my youngest child celebrated his birthday on Sept. 22. I am so happy to have spent time with him this summer where he is living in Alberta. I miss him every day despite that. Happy Birthday Eric!! I love you lots!!

This and That.
1.Our town is having its annual Airshow starting tomorrow and from where I live, I can sit in my Cul-de-sac and watch the planes overhead without going to the actual airshow. It doesn't bode well though if you want to get good pictures, just saves you the cost of admission and you still get to watch the show. I think this year might be the first time in a few years I will go to the airshow, strictly for some up close and cool pictures!!
2.The planes have been up flying since yesterday practising for the Airshow. Its like a pre game warmup and I have been watching that for the past couple of days.
3.Went to the doctor today and got requisition for X-Rays for my sore butt. It has not got any better so its time to see if I am more cracked than I figured. Check down a few posts to see the story of my sore butt. You can leave butt jokes in the comments if you want!
4.My high school reunion is less than a month away now and I have to RSVP by the end of next week. Should I go?? I am curious but a bit wary about the whole thing as well. What do you think??
5.The heatwave of last week has broken and the past few days have been wonderful. Warm enough not to get cold and cool enough not to overheat. I guess you could say moderate. We should all enjoy things in moderation.
6. Must go and make supper, Salad and Fruit, just in case I do go to the reunion, must be vigilant now!!!
That is enough of this, hope you all have a great evening!!

This and That
I am not going to try to download a picture tonight, just a few words for you is all.
-It is hotter than Hades here. We have broken all time records here the past three days. Today was 37 degrees Celcius, yesterday 38. Our normal for this time of year is about 25 Celcius. The humidity makes it horrible at around 60%. The air feels like a sauna.
-My cat does not know what to do in this weather. He is just exhausted. He lays down on the floor and stretches himself out as long as he can get. He even lets me brush him and that is nuts. He is a crazy psycho cat who scratches you just as soon as he can get close enough.
-How do you cool off?? My hour long one way commute each day in my four window down, 60 miles per hour air conditioned car just does not really do the job. I got stuck in a bit of a traffic jam and just about melted. It worries me how the old people and the sick are handling this weather. And there is no break in it for the next week the weather man says.
-I need a vacation to someplace cool!! Off to my bedroom with its two industrial size fans and a box fan in the window. I can sleep through all that noise!!
Skywatch Friday tomorrow, will post something then!!

This and That
1) I am sick. Summer colds always are hard to take.
2) It does not feel like summer outside. Its cold, cloudy and raining off and on. And windy. I like that part.
3) Lots of sad news on the TV today. Prominent people dying. If things go in threes then hopefully it will end.
4) Farrah Faucett was amazing in The Burning Bed. I had to look at her differently after I saw her in that role.
5) My hubby took my camera to work with him today, and I am fretting. I worry about that camera like it was another kid of mine. Of course when you don't have your camera with you then everything is a photo op!!
6) I worry about my hubby too! I told him to gaurd that camera with his life but I didn't mean it. Really there is not even a choice about which one I would give up. And he is not it.
7) Work is done and I am going to go and change into something comfy and cozy, befitting this cold I am nursing. I just want to caccoon tonight, so that is what me and my cat are going to do. And watch the sad news at the same time.
Have a great evening everyone.

This and That.
1) I have tryed twice now to put some pictures into this post but my computer says it can not find this website. What is with that??
2) We have a heatwave here and went the temps get like this the ability of drivers goes down correspondingly with the number on the Thermometer. We can't think in that kind of heat I guess!
3) I would not be able to do the job I have without the wonderful staff I have. They make this job a joy to go to every day and I thank them for that!
4) I am missing my son a lot lately. Sometimes this world is just a bit too big and on those days missing someone is what happens.
5) I wrote my Recert exam today at work, 8 pages double sided of lots of questions and hope I did okay with that. I'll find out the marks tomorrow.
6) Glad to see the weekend come, this week has been way to busy.
Enough of this, a good book and a cool fan await me and hopefully a good night's sleep, so that's the end of my post!!
I will try those pictures again tomorrow!!

This and That
A little bit of this and a little bit of that for a Thursday.
1) I recieved my Income Tax return the other day and what a nice check that was!! I put it onto my Visa so it does not look so bad now and as well when you get some free money like that you should spend a bit of it on a little something you want but don't neccessarily need. So I did!!! I bought myself a SB600 external Speed Light For my Nikon camera and a Diffuse Light cover for it as well. I also bought a 90% bendable viewfinder. For the life of me I can't think of the real name for it without getting up and going to look. Anyways I have new toys!! It's always hard for me to buy myself something so I have to mention it because I actually did buy myself something!!
2)Survivor is on tonight and I am getting ready to head next door to my neighbour's place to watch the show. I just took my appy out of the oven and it smells wonderful!! Baked Onion Dip with multigrain crackers to eat it with. And a bottle of Merlot to share with everyone.
3) I went to a Specialist about my shoulder today. He had the MRI results, The C-T Scan results and the X-rays. It frustrates me no end when they can't figure out what is going on in my shoulder so automatically want to stick Cortisone shots in there and see if it will help. They can't even gaurantee that it will. I don't want to be a pin cushion or a guinea pig for it.
4)I watched the Oprah show today with her interview of Elizabeth Edwards and her new book Resilience. I think I want to get the book and read it. She talked a bit of how she is learning to live in the present with her cancer and the news of her hubbys infedelity and some of the things she was saying tweaked my curiousity enough that I think I have to read her book. Sometimes the time is right to hear the things you might of heard before but weren't willing to look at earlier. When the time is right they say the Teacher comes.
5)Its time to get my stuff together and head over to next door. An evening spent with friends, good food and wine is a nice way to spend the evening. Survivor sometimes gets watched while we are at it!!!
Enough of this, I'm off to that!!

This and That
A little of this and a lot of that for today....
Its already April and here in the rainforest country we are still having snow. What is up with that? Its very cold lately for this place but listening to the weatherman right now he is saying highs of 15 Celcius by Monday. The poor cherry blossoms are trying to bloom, the daffodils etc are all coming up but they don't like the snow any more than I do. Bring on the spring!!
Survivor on tonight and going to my next door neighbours place to watch the show and eat some appys and drink some wine. We do this every Survivor night and have done that for the past five or so years. Its a Thursday tradition now.
I am furiously trying to think of ways to get more tax money back before filing my taxes. I am looking for deductions everywhere! Every cent counts in these economic times.
My hubby's business is just taking off! Its been a dream of ours to start our own business (I just do the books) and finally it might be happening!!
I am so tired of the violence around this area. There have been gang related shootings, killings now since the beginning of the year. 36 shootings since the beginning of January. So many now that when the news report another shooting no one is surprised anymore. Oh well, just another day is the attitude. Are we getting immune to the horrors of it?? Just today they called my city where I live The Ground Zero of gang warfare in Canada. What a thing to be known for. I pray it will end soon.
Day 29 today that my friend Wes has been missing. He seems to have just vanished off the face of the earth. I try not to lose hope that he will be found safe but I don't know anymore. He is not like this just to disappear, it is so out of character and so scary for his friends and his family. My heart goes out to his mom, I have been through this before when my son disappeared and I know the horrible pain she is in. No mom should ever know this pain.
Well, I think for this week that that is enough of this for today. Have a great day everyone....
