Texture Tuesday

A bracelet on a craft table that caught my eye. 

It's not something that I would buy to wear, its really not my style of jewelry, but I liked the colors and the way the light played on the beads. 

 

Photography makes it possible for me to see the things that I normally would not even pause to see. It opens my world a little bit more!

 

Project 52 - Sweet Shot Tuesday - Ice

I hope you are not getting tired of ice crystals!

This is the park bench in park behind our house.

 

 

I am needing this winter frosty thing to get it over and done with in the next few days. While it is pretty to see and fun to photograph our move at the end of next week is going to be more challenging with it. So I am giving it until the end of the weekend to smarten up! 

Like it is going to listen to me!!!

Frozen Water that is!

 

Everything is super frosty. The roads are skating rinks, the puddles are frozen, the leaves are covered in frost. Its cold cold cold! 

The Weatherman threatens snow and it does try but mostly its icy fog and tiny frozen rain pellets. 

It kind of looks like a dusting of sugar granules stuck to this leaf! 

A Few More Gerber Daisies

My daughter and her best friend Mandy gave me these flowers last week. Mandy's family grow gerber daisies and their greenhouses supply these beautiful blooms to all of the mainland and parts further.

Sweet Shot Tuesday

I used a couple of Kim Klassen textures on each photo, and love the way it has added a depth to each of the photos.

Loving my Gerbers, they make a person happy!!

Summer Flowers



A couple of flowers found on a recent trip around the park behind our home.

These petunias are growing in my front yard hanging basket.

I added a couple of KimKlassen textures to this, in preparation for taking Kim's Skinny-Mini course!

These petunias are almost a blood red dark colour, never seen them this colour before and just had to buy the basket when I found them!

I think this Caterpillar might make a beautiful Butterfly one day. Colours are awesome!

This little guy actually jumped at me when I got too close with my camera. Looking through the lens at a spider jumping at you makes the bug look suddenly huge and on impulse makes you jump back quickly and almost fall over. Or at least that is what happened here!

Texture Tuesday - Flowers

I used Reverie texture first at soft light and then at hard light.

I thought it makes a rather blurry photo kind of ethereal and dreamy!



Pussy Willows already!!

Our weather lately has been so mild and warm that things are getting confused. Is it Winter or isn't it??

These Pussy willows are not sure, they had to come out and check it out themselves.

And seeing all these blooming plants such as the Pussy Willows and other things like Snowdrops starting to bloom makes me happy that Spring must be around the corner.

I usually write down the texture I use when I process photos, but for some reason I didn't for these. Me bad!!

Snow Times



We have had our first big snowfall of the year, snow starting on Sunday night and predicted to snow for the rest of the week. It is a big deal here, everything seems to stop when the snow falls. Most of our weather is temperate rain forest type weather, we don't have to shovel it!

One thing that you can do here when the snow flies is get out the camera and check out the cool photo opportunities. A quick trip to my back yard netted me these shots of rosehips and old hydrangea flowers.

I used a selection of Kim Klassen textures to treaat these photos, but I forgot to write down specifically which ones I used. Me bad!!

I am off work tomorrow again due to the excessive white stuff, so sure to take a few more pictures!
