Skywatch Friday

It is Heron Nesting season here and at the Heron Sanctuary there is a whole lot of building going on!! It looks like Heron Condos in the sky!!
Here is one heron sitting on its nest, the blue sky behind a nice backdrop!!
The heron sanctuary is located across a small river and to take these pictures we went up on the dyke systems that ran through the farmer's fields.
It was a beautiful sunny warm day, just right for construction!!
From a distance all the black spots you see are heron nests. Lots of them!!!

Nice photos. It must be nice to see so many herons. I saw two today they very interesting birds.

That's a lot of nests! I imagine this will be quite the sight when eggs start to hatch.

I have never seen so many herons/nests at one place. I had no idea they would build nests so close together. Apparently, they all remember whose is whose!

Ms.Dew: You did the same photos I did for camera critters for SWF. These heron rookeries have many uses.
