Macro Monday

We won't be needing Ice Cream much longer to keep us cool on a warm day. Rather something warm on a cool day. Got to love the cooler days of Autumn.
This is Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Ice Cream and Caramel Vanilla Ice Cream made at Birchwood Dairy outside of Town. For the record, it is the best Ice Cream ever made.
I wouldn't lie to you about that!

Mellow Yellow Macro Monday

Linking up with: http://lisaschaos.com/

Sometimes a girl just has to buy herself a present, especially if she is someone who will take care of others and never think of herself first. Sometimes she just deserves a treat!
Then again, sometimes you have to encourage said person who happened to be my sister Elaine, that she deserves to treat herself with a beautiful bracelet.

So I encouraged her, or rather badgered her mercilessly until she treated herself!
What was the last thing you actually bought for yourself that really you didn't need and never would of thought to buy for yourself?
Looking forward to your answers!

Macro Monday

I am leaving in the morning on a road trip with my Sister and Brother in Law. We are heading home for them to Alberta and for me to see my kids that also live in Alberta. I have a couple of weeks off and will try to post from thier house as well. It is at least a 16 hour straight through drive, but we will be stopping here and there. I plan on taking lots of photos along the way. The scenery is wonderful.

We have lots of things planned, people to visit and places to see. We will be busy!

I have to be back next Wednesday to home for an appointment but not back to work for the rest of that week. The plans so far are that both my kids will be out next week to our house so the visit will continue!
These little figurines were spyed at a garden store we visited yesterday. I thought they were cute enough to tell you all about my absence!!
Hope you all are enjoying your summer!!
Happy Trails.....

Mellow Yellow Macro Monday!

The sun is finally here, at least for two days, and what better flower to show but a Sunflower!
A different perspective from the back of the Sunflower.

Our weather is set to change again tomorrow, the clouds are supposed to come back along with the rain and the cooler temperatures. Our summer has been unusually cooler and cloudy for most of the season. I for one am not minding the cooler temperatures. Once it gets above 25 Celcius or so, I have trouble dealing with it. It just makes me sluggish and tired. So summer can stay on the cooler side as far as I am concerned!!
Check out Mellow Yellow Monday and Macro Monday at the addresses above. You won't be sorry!

It's been a very busy week here, and seems like forever since being able to post a photo or two here. My hubby and I have been shooting a Wedding for friends of ours, the wedding this past Monday and then their private photos yesterday. Kind of backwards, but it worked out well for them. And kept us very busy. Now the task of processing all the photos begins.
Spring has been a bit late showing up here with all the rain and grey cool skies we have had. Our lilacs are just starting to bloom, and I am waiting patiently for them. These little blooms were growing on a low bush at our local park. Not sure what they are?

This wedding was the first ever wedding I have photographed. I really think I understand flowers more! I think you have to have a good understanding of people to capture them in photos. My hubby's photos were awesome and he says I am much to critical of my own photos to be an unbiased judge. A flower stands still, waits patiently, never blinks and always puts its best face forward!

Macro Monday

Magnolia blossoms are just starting to bloom. These blossoms can be quite dramatic and produce a good show on the tree when in full bloom.
they smell beautiful too.

I guess if you have to rake up all the fallen petals you might not be so enamoured with them!

The variety of soft pinks and cream colours are gorgeous too!

Macro Monday

My hubby and I took a Photography Seminar a couple of weekends ago. One of the Seminars was on Painting with Light. The instructor talked about the process, showed us his photos, and then demonstrated the technique for Painting with Light. He let a couple of the students also try it and I was lucky enough to try the process. I learn better by trying, or doing so it was great to get the opportunity
I immediately went home, and took over the spare bedroom and set it up so I could Paint with light in my house. This photo is the first photo I tryed this on. I think for the first shot at it, its okay!
I have so many other things around this house that is going to get painted!!

Macro Monday

This past weekend my hubby took me to the Military Museum in Chilliwack. It is on the old grounds of CFB Chilliwack which used to be the old training grounds for the Canadian Army. In the museum was a set of Diaramas or models if you will of war scenes. If you like models or building them you would of loved to see these.

Each of these model battlefields  depicted an actual battle from the different wars, such as World
War 1 or World War 2. They were very well done, very detailed and life like. I took a lot of pictures and have as many that I have not put on here as are here. Maybe next week I will do another installment of those photos.
