Camera Critters

Seems like I have been squirreled away at the computer in my office for days, editing wedding pictures! Other than work, it has captured a huge chunk of remaining time, so much so that I haven't been taking many other pictures for the past week.
So, I think it is time for another dose of my crazy cats, Speed and Scarf!
Scarf spends a lot of time on her back and looking back!

The occasional stretch to see how long she can make herself!

Her arm of the couch!

Speed sleeping on my hubby's legs.

Its his favorite thing to be is draped over you sleeping.

The evil eyes!!

Camera Critters

It has been a long long time since sharing pictures of my two cats with you. Our kitten Scarf, the calico, is now 16 months old and Speed, our white cat is 12 years old.
This is Scarf, so named because of how she scarfs her food and that for the first couple weeks here with us she was like a scarf around the neck, living mostly on my hubby's shoulder. Scarf came to us at four weeks old, she had been thrown out of the car in front of us while driving in the town of Mission. She was covered in sticky candy residue and starving. From her rocky start, she has settled down amazingly well but still retains a lot of skittishness and apprehension. She will cuddle up with us on the bed, but in the daytime mostly stays a distance away. Speed is the only one she will snuggle up to in the daytime.

Speed is getting older and likes to sleep more than he ever did before. He will snuggle right up to you and likes to curl up into a ball with his head resting in the palm of your hand. He took over the parent duties for Scarf when she arrived and still keeps an eye on her. I think because she was so incredibly small when she arrived he was not threatened by bringing another cat into the fold.

The armchair in the living room is there chair, complete with the couch cushion for them to make it soft. Sometimes they like the blanket on the back of the couch over them, creating a cave for them to sleep.

Macro Monday

I thought for Macro Monday it was about time I gave everyone another dose of Scarf, my rescue kitten. It's been a while since she has been here and she's grown quite a bit since I introduced her here. You can see earlier pictures of her if you click on the Scarf tags.

About the only time I can get her to pose is when she is tired and finished playing. She doesn't just walk from place to place, she runs at full tilt and jumps over everything. Or rather flys!! If I tryed to clean that little gunky on her eye, she would scratch me or bite. She still has to learn to be gentle and trust.

The white cat in the right hand corner is Speed, our 12 year old cat. He is napping too. She exhausts him with her constant playing/scraping.

When all the scraping and fighting is done its time for a nap. You can see how much bigger Speed is than Scarf. She is catching up quick though!!

Scarf

Its time I think for another batch of pictures. Scarf is growing so fast. If you look back on the first pictures I posted you will really see the difference. She is about 11 weeks old now and has really settled into her new home.
She still has remnants of her shaky beginnings here. She still seems to have a eating disorder. If its not nailed down she will attempt to eat it. Needless to say, I have to make sure the floors and carpets are always clean. As well, we have to keep our older cat's food put away when he is not eating. She will polish off all her food then work on his if given half a chance. He is a nibbler when it comes to eating. He likes to graze all day on his food so he is not liking the fact his food is put away.
She loves to stalk things too. Her favorite things are up on the back of the couch and will attack my hair, especially if it is pulled back. She has sharp little razor blade claws.
She does not tire easily either. She is a going concern most of the time. I bought her a small catnip mouse and she went after it for hours.
She likes her butt pushed up against the pillows of the couch when she finally does stop for a rest. She always seems to have to touch something for comfort I guess to go to sleep. At night she sleeps on the bed with Speed, or between the Bear and I on the bed.
Vaccine shots coming up next week. Another trip to the vet for that!!
I will post more pictures, you can see how she grows!!
