Project 52 - Water Play



This house has been in a complete upheaval while we paint the entire house, so I totally missed last week's prompt of Play while my entire computer was cowering under sheets of plastic, stacked in the middle of the room. Right now the front door is being painted, and as far as I know I think it is the last thing to be done. We will get the house back!

I combined both last week and this week's prompts into Water Play for this weeks photos.

These were taken at White Rock beach on a stormy day. Water was full of waves and white caps and as far as I was concerned not fit for me to dip my toes in, but for some men and certain beasts it was a riot!

It was hard for him to pull the sail up and keep it up without just blowing over to the other side, but eventually he managed and went skimming along the waves.

This dog knew his red ball was somewhere in the waves!

Got it!!

Back to the shore to his buddies.

So cold on this day, I am surprised I could keep my camera steady enough without the shivering!

Watery Wednesday

I have been posting photos from a garden my Hubby and I visited this past weekend. If you look back on the last few posts you can read about the story of this garden.

Hilda's Garden, built on the side of a hillside, and over five acres in size also had a few water features in it. At the top of the property, which I never went as far up to see is a waterfall, feeding into a creek that runs down the entire length of the hillside, into the Koi pond and down. It was raining most of the day, and the paths and steps were treacherous.

The above picture is overlooking the Koi Pond, as seen from the veranda of the Treehouse.

At the top of the hill as far as I went up is a stone bridge built by Hilda's husband Dan. He is a stone mason by trade and built all the stone steps, paths and this bridge. A veritable feat considering he is in his late 70's now, and carried up stones and concrete and sand by the bucket to build the paths/bridge, and these trails were steep to climb and hard to get to.

Here is a set of concrete and stone steps that he built along the side of the creek. This is leading up to the top of the hill, and close to where the waterfall starts.

Watery Wednesday with some Midweek Blues too!

I have been trying to teach myself how to make collages with Photoshop and this is the first collage as a result of it. It only took me a couple of hours to figure this out so far. I guess that is how you learn, just keep plugging away at it until it amounts to a reasonable facimile of what you were trying to do in the first place!!

The pictures weren't hard to take, it was a sunny beautiful day at the beach. I don't get many chances or rather enough chances to get down to the beach and enjoy the wonderful scenes!

It was just the collage that was challenging!

There are a lot of wonderful things to explore and discover on the beach and these three girls are enjoying the day! But while they are out searching for treasure, they are being watched!

We were watching them but so was a big black crow hiding behind a rock. Can you spot him?

Ruby Tuesday gets wet on Watery Wednesday.

This past weekend, the owner of a Dragon Boat, launched the boat at the local Mill Lake and offered people a ride.

Each trip was around twenty minutes or so and went around the lake about twice before coming back to the boat launch.

I love the reflections of the boat and the life jackets in the water. There were other small boats out on the lake as well, enjoying the day fishing.

Watery Wednesday

Hello and welcome to Watery Wednesday. We have had all forms of precipitation falling in the past few days, but it is the rain I am  looking forward to. The snow has mostly melted, the hail didn't break my skylight, although it sure sounded like it would. The freezing rain made the roads extra slick and could not see the Black Ice until the car started to slide a bit. Now the weather is warming up overnight and the rain is coming tomorrow. I can handle the rain!
