That's My World Tuesday

I've been learning all sorts of things in my Photoshop class, some of which has piqued my curiosity and caused me to go looking for tutorials to create some wild photos.
So, I just learned about Planet Photos, so had to try one for My World Tuesday.
This is Granville Island, a huge Market located under the Granville Bridge in Vancouver. The waterfront is a hub of activity and across from the market is located huge apartment buildings. To get from Granville Island over to the other side you can take cute little water taxies. At the Main Market you can get fresh vegetables, meats and seafoods, and as well the Island also boasts its on Brewery and a few live art theaters. Emily Carr School of the Arts is also on Granville Island.

My World Tuesday - Abbotsford Rodeo

Every year our city has a Agricultural/Recreational Fair and Rodeo. this year marked the 100th Anniversary of the fair. Lots to see and lots to do at the fair. Lots to eat as well!! These next pictures are all from the Rodeo. Hard to believe but this is only the second rodeo I have ever been too. And I have lived in this town for years....
The evening's events started with the Ladies Grand Entry and the singing of the National Anthem.

There is Ladies Barrel Riding.

This horse shyed away from the barrels and would not go around them.

There is Men's Bronco Riding. This guy did not last long!!

A 12 year old Cowboy riding a Broncing Bull.

And then there is Calf Roping.

The Calf that managed to slip past the rope!

Every Rodeo has to have a clown and the Clown even has a Horse.

The Mighty Tug of War.

This horse did not want to come out of the stall and do his thing. He just stood there.

And then finally, some Steer Catching, or whatever they would call it. Come along side of the steer and fall off your horse onto its head and flip it to the ground.

My World Tuesday

Every year in the month of July our town throws a big party to celebrate the harvest of Berries we are famous for. It is called the Berry Beat and celebrates the harvest of Raspberries, Strawberries and Blueberries, all grown locally. This young artist was there and demonstrating his craft. He painted a whole picture for us in about 15 minutes, all using cans of spray paint.
He used the lid of a Cookie Tin to make the sun in his picture.

He had to wear a gas mask because of the fumes from the paint. I had to position myself too so I did not get the fine mist spray from the paint on me or my camera.
He used chunks of blank paper to block off certain sections and just kept adding layers over layers to create his picture.

You can see the painting now taking shape.

And finally, the finished painting.
This guy paints and sells his paintings for his livelyhood. This painting was on sale for $40.00.
