Macro Monday

Its spring now and evidence of that is all over for us to see. One of the things that I feel when spring arrives is that desire to do some spring cleaning, to open up the windows and blinds and let the fresh air in, to get in all the corners and give the house a darn good cleaning. I see that also in the world of the Geese!!

This soon to be a Mama Goose is setting up her house in preparation of things to come. Its kind of a strange place for her to get her house in order, being so out in the open of a busy park.
She was continually re-arranging the bits of dried stalks of grass around her in a circle and pulling pieces of grass off the plant next to her to fortify her house.
I am the same when I get heavy into cleaning my house. I rearrange things, take some furniture and move it from room to room, clean the corners and behind things and go to the store to get what I need to complete the chores.
I work from front of the house to the back, until the job is done. Seems Mother Goose here has had the same training!!
Here you can see under Mother Goose how clean the floor is! I think it is all part of Spring Fever, and I think we all are going to be suffering from it to some degree in the weeks to come!!

Today's Flowers

My hubby and I went to Granville Island yesterday which is a huge open market. Lots to see and do there!!
There were a couple of flower stands just outside of the doors leading into the market, so I took a few pictures of the flowers on display for sale there.
Their Hydrangea plants were beautiful, with huge flowers on them.
Just inside the doors there were more displays of indoor flowers.
They also had flowers for sale that I had never heard of before. Here are some Pin Cushion flowers for you.

Skywatch Friday

For Skywatch Friday, Here is a picture I took while in Victoria a couple of months ago. The photo is taken in Sydney Harbour on a beautiful sunny calm day. I loved the reflections of the clouds and boats inverted in the calm still waters of the harbour. I just entered this photo in a contest, under the category of Vertical.

Watery Wednesday

A quiet pool to sit next to and reflect on your day. I love the reflections here.
A waterfall really made of a whole bunch of cohesively held together water drops!
And another shot of the small waterfall, just before it hits the bottom....

I have a ways to go. I need more practise!!
These are tulip leaves after a rain shower.

Today's Flowers

A few flowers from our outing yesterday to White Rock, B.C.
There were lots of curb-side flower beds with spring flowers in each. Daffodils are all over right now, with tulips starting to make their appearance in flower beds.
A tulip for you. As well as the curb-side flower beds there were lots of container gardens up and down the street as well.
You can smell the sweet scent of Hyacinth's before you see them. Purple pansies as well.
I am not sure what this particular flower is, its petals were a bit waxy feeling and thicker giving them a feeling of substance. They almost looked like leaves rather than flowers.
