I could listen to my hubby play music all night. He is a gifted musician who plays just about every instument except a flute. He can't make his lips do the circle thing it takes to blow air across the hole in a flute to make the notes. Indian flutes are a different thing. He can handle those.
Maybe it is my mood but tonight what he is playing is making me sad and teary. What is going with that?? They say music is a universal language, you don't have to speak it to have it speak to you and what he is playing is hitting a melancholy place inside me. Maybe that is how he is feeling as well? I am going to have to ask him later, meanwhile I am going to listen and feel the music.
Take care everyone....

Simple Woman's Daybook
For Today.....
Outside my window: It is dark and cloudy out. And cold!!
I am thinking: That I have to be up early and should really be in bed. Its been a long day.
I am thankful: that tonight my children are safe and I know where they are.
From the kitchen: I just finished cleaning up after supper.
I am wearing: A pair of black Yoga pants and a grey sweater. And white socks!!
I am creating: a huge pile of laundry that needs my attention!!
I am going: To work in the morning and to bed after this is done!!
I am reading: A John Grisham book. A true life mystery book.
I am hoping: That my friend Wes who has been missing for the past 26 days now will be found safe and sound and this whole nightmare will come to an end on a happy note.
Around the house: The dryer is going, the cat is asleep on the couch, my hubby is working on his computer and I have a nice glass of wine to enjoy while I type this out.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Its a full five day week at work so just work, driving to and fro and sleep to get to the end of it.
Once again I have typed out the entire post and forgot to put a picture to share with everyone. Doh!!!!! So I have downloaded the picture and can not figure out how to get it from the top of the post down to the bottom of the post so it is going to be the first thing you get to see. This is some of the forested area of Hayward Park Hiking Trails we searched on this past weekend for my friend Wes. It's beautiful country to visit even for the reasons I found myself there on Saturday.

Skywatch Friday
For Skywatch Friday a couple of pictures taken from the side of the highway outside of Kamloops B.C. that I waited on while my hubby tryed to find me. They are SOOC shots, so not so colourful but then again, nothing in this area is really colourful. This is desert country so everything is 42 shades of brown and gray!!
The colour in here is what is painted onto the different buildings.

Enjoy the spring!!!

More Pictures of my Mom and family!
My Uncle Bob who is my last surviving Uncle has been going through old pictures of his and has found some more pictures that he has sent out to the rest of the family. I love seeing these old pictures and wonder about each of the stories that each one has to tell. I'll never get to ask my Mom about each of them but seeing them brings her memory a little bit closer to me.
Here is Mom, and I am not sure who the baby is but maybe its me!! Uncle Bob was not sure if it was.
This picture is of my Grandfather, he is in the middle of the picture sitting down. Grandpa worked for the railroad and took care of the tracks. Here is a couple of his crew members.
Here is my Grandparents, uncles and my Mom with one of their dogs sitting on one of the railcars.
My Mom standing in a field of alpine flowers. Mom and the family lived in the Rocky Mountains at the base of Mount Robson.

I often wonder at times when I look at these pictures if Mom managed to live the life she dreamed of when she was the little girl growing up in these pictures. Did she get to do all the things she wanted to do? What were those dreams she fulfilled or what dreams did she have that fell by the wayside. I wish to have known the person she was in these pictures as well as the person I did know her to be in the years I did know her.
I'd ask her these things now if I had the chance. I wish for my kids to have that opportunity now to ask me the questions while they still have the chance to ask me. I regret not having that chance.
I miss my Mom at times. Certain things remind me of that. Like these pictures.

Skywatch Friday
I have been down to downtown Vancouver a lot lately for Doctor's appointments and so have taken the Vancouver skyline pictures on some really nice sunny days and again here on a not so nice cloudy cold day. It snowed in the morning but melted quickly and we were left with gray rainy skies.
Looking to the left into Vancouver.

Skywatch Friday
Wednesday, March 11, 2009
So we went to downtown Vancouver today for a Specialist's appointment for me today. It ended up being a waste of a day in that we got down to the Doctor's office in time, I filled out all the paperwork for the doctor and then a hospital emergency happened and he had to leave right away to perform surgery so my appointment got cancelled right away. What a waste of time to go there and gas and I had to take the day off as well to go to it.
Anywayss, after we left the doctor's office we happened upon this car parked just down the street from the building we were at.
A little grey haired lady was driving it and kindly let me take some pictures of her "work of art"
This is the hood of the vehicle. These are all toys glued onto the vehicle.
This is the top of the car. Notice the little grey haired lady on the other side of the car!!
Another view of the top of the car.
A picture taken from the back of the car.
A picture taken from the front down the passenger side of her car.
Now if we had never gone downtown today for this cancelled appointment we would of never seen this cool car!!!

See, there is always silver linings to every storm cloud!!
Hope you all had a good day with your own surprises in store for you as well.
