Gerber Daisies

My daughter was here visiting for a week and on her last evening here brought me a bucket of Gerber daisies home from her best friend Mandy's place. Mandy's family grows Gerbers in a huge greenhouse and supply the flowers to stores all over the mainland.

I didn't even have enough vases for all of them, so mason jars etc work fine to hold this bounty!

I couldn't even begin to pick my favorite colour of Gerbers. I love them all. How can you not be happy with a house full of Gerbers!

I even like the back end of them, although my hubby doesn't quite get that!

I love the back of flowers as well. I think we don't always look at the whole picture. Turn something over and you have a whole new perspective!

Foxglove after the rain.

And this is my favorite of the set. Love the curl in the branch and how the water is heavy enough to make the branch of Foxglove bend under the weight.

I found these little beauties blooming at one of the parks here in town. Spring has been very slow in coming here, and it's snowing right now as I type this so hopefully these little blooms aren't too affected by that.

Maybe all this snow is Nature's April Fools Day Joke on all of us!!

You know a girl loves to get a bouquet of flowers! The other day the phone rang, the caller asking if anyone would be home to receive a delivery of flowers.

Of course we would, but who were these from??

It wasn't my birthday.

It wasn't my Anniversary!

Maybe just because! That is a nice reason to get flowers delivered!

Turns out the flowers were from my work, for my 24th Anniversary of working in the Company. Only thing was, my anniversary of that is actually in May. Someone slipped up, and I got a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a result!!

As we slowly tip into September, the gardens at Minter Gardens are at the most colourful they have been since Spring.

Gazebo in the center of the Rose Garden.

The huge peacock's feathers are all flowers.

Today's Flowers

My hubby and I went out to Van Duesen Gardens in Vancouver yesterday to see the Zimbabwe Stone Carving Displays through the gardens. I only took a few photos of the flowers there, mostly the statues which I will feature in the next few days.

Here are some of the flowers I saw, and I only know the names of a couple of them so please feel free to put names to the others!
