Its a Wonderful World

Do these pictures look as cold as it was when they were taken? It snowed tiny little flakes all day yesterday and this is what accumulated from the snowfall. The snow is powdery and light, and did I mention cold!!
You can't make a snowball out of it to throw.

When you walk in it, the footsteps make a crunching sound.

It just compacts it down when you drive on it. And if you spun your wheels enough you could make a thin layer of ice.
This is our favorite park to visit in Medicine Hat. To get down to it you have to go down a steep winding long hill, with a drop off if you were so inclined to slide over the side on your way down.

You can see it is quite deserted out here because most people are too scared or is that too smart to attempt the hill down and then back up again!

The Sand cliffs across the water from Echodale park. The geese flying over the river.
One thing about snow on a sunny day, its so bright it almost hurts to really open your eyes.

Love the shadows.

The temperature today is -8Celcius, in other words Cold!

I think these winter pics of Echodale are just one example of What a Wonderful World it is we live in!!

One thing we have had our share of lately is rain. And more rain! And more....
It sure is good for catching water drops though!
This water drop reflects our back fence and the row of trees along the fence.
I don't know what these grass stalks are, but they really hold the water! Click on the photo and see the reflections in the drops!

The name of this blog will tell you I am loving water drops! My never ending challenge is to get a perfect reflection, and I haven't managed that yet!

Tiny macrocosms of water. The world reflecting in a tiny drop!

One of the things I am trying to make myself do is to change my header photo. Should be simple! Sounds simple. Some would say I don't like change! But 2013 is definitely my year of change.
Our house is sold and move out day is three weeks away. We are living amongst boxes as we go about the chore of packing and sorting, keeping and giving away. We are simplifying and downsizing and lessening the load. It feels good, the further we go.
The idea of change on such a big scale is daunting, and here I am resisting the simple act of changing my blog header picture! Go figure!
This year my New Year's resolution is "Reconnect"

I feel like these drops at times. Clinging on to a fine wire, any movement will shake me loose and make me fall. The wind can buffet my position and the heat can dry me up.  Any change can come along and send me for a loop.
Its a risk to take a chance, make a change. I'm trying to embrace it, hell, I am embracing it!!
2013 is my year!

Project 52 - Sad

Project 52 - p52 weekly photo challenge with Kent Weakley
I love my Saturday mornings. Sometimes I wait impatiently all week just for my Saturday morning!
I love sleeping in. When you have to get up at 4:30am on weekdays sleeping in on the weekend is pure bliss! Making coffee and sitting to read the morning paper in a quiet, calm and peaceful house! (Yes that is whipped cream on my coffee)
Pajamas and warm moccasins and relaxing on the couch watching old movies.
My cat Speed relaxing right along with me!
Double smoked Applewood thick sliced Bacon for breakfast. We love bacon here so much that when you cut your finger and need a bandaid it is a Bacon Strip Bandaid you get!
Yummy eggs, and of course just because we only do this once a week, those get fried in a bit of the bacon fat as well!
Crisp oven roasted Bacon, Eggs and thin sliced Roma tomatoes! Could it get any better!
Dutch Chocolate Cake Coffee and a good book on my E-Reader after breakfast.
See why I love my Saturday mornings!
So what could possibly be sad about spending a wonderful and relaxing morning such as this??
It always ends, and I have to wait a whole week again for my next Saturday. How sad is that!?
