A Very Mellow Yellow Macro Monday!!!

My hubby and I like to find different places to explore on our weekend Date days, so yesterday we visited a Country garden way in the back of Mission BC. The garden was the labour of a woman named Hilda who for the past 32 years has carved a beautiful sanctuary out of the side of the mountain she lived on with her husband. The garden is 5 acres, and includes a waterfall and creek running from the top of the property down to the bottom. It has two Koi ponds and a huge Treehouse built between two huge Cedar trees.
Hilda passed away in April after suffering a very short bout of cancer leaving her husband of 38 years alone. He has opened up the gardens as a tribute garden for his wife and invited all in to see her labour of love. Over the next few days I will post photos taken at her garden. It was such an amazing and serene beautiful space I have to share it. And it is a love story lasting over 40 years that brought tears to my eyes.
Here is some of the photos and over the next few days I will post a lot more. Make sure to come on back and enjoy!

I think this is a Banana Slug, pretty slimey thing it is!!

It was a dreary cloudy grey day and for about half the time we were there yesterday, it rained. But I do love raindrops!

A wet Poppy with some awesome raindrops.
I have about a thousand photos to go through, so this is it for this post, more tomorrow. Check out yesterday's photos for the awesome Fuchia's that were all over the garden as well.
Later......

Macro Monday

Its very pink and white in gardens with the Heather blooming, and the bees are on site gathering pollen!
Pollen sacs like shopping bags on legs, storing gathered pollen.

Wings of Gossamer carry bees about their business.

Macro Monday

Sometimes when you take a photo of something, and then open it up on the computer you get a bonus something you had no idea was there when you snapped the shot.
I had no idea this little green and red bug was on this flower. I was zeroed into the water drops!

Isn't he cute for something that was not supposed to be there!

A couple more pictures from my holiday in Medicine Hat, Alberta for you for Macro Monday.
We went out to Echodale Park to walk one afternoon and in the middle of a bunch of brown grass was this one lonely sunflower. I kneeled down and took a few pictures of the flower and as well some of the grasses around it and then stood up and looked down.

This is what I saw when I looked down!! I was standing on a red ant hill and they were all over my feet. So after much jumping around and stamping my feet I left the ants behind. Thank goodness I did not get bitten.
Just goes to show you that you have to watch where you are going!!
I thought both would make for good pictures for Macro Monday and a story to tell.

Macro Monday

I happened to catch this little bug on one of my daisies.
Went in for a closer look and he was not even upset at the big camera and human coming in for a close-up!!

He stood up on a petal and took a good look at me as well!!

Ants not aunts...

This fine image above is a Thistle plant I saw while out to Othello Tunnels here in Hope. All the orange spots are ants enjoying a feast!!
I am still struggling on with Photoshop but I am not one to learn something by trying to teach it to myself. I learn better going step by step with someone who knows the craft. I play around in it but still really have not got a clue about it. I am going to have to take a course or something. I am taking a Basic Photography course that starts in October but that is a long time to muddle along like I have been.
I did play with this above picture and then saved what I did but could not get it to upload here, so clearly have done something wrong. Back to the drawing board....
