Today's Flowers

For Today's Flowers, I went to visit my friend Gay and her father who live on a five acre part park, part garden. The garden is just waking up from winter's rest and a few of the flowers for today are here. Primroses in all colours are blooming right now but I especially liked these. They look like the sun to me!!
The garden contains many Rhododendrum bushes some early and some late blooming. Here is one of the early bloomers just starting to bloom.
I am not sure what this little flower is but it was pretty!!
Cherry Blossoms are all around now. I didn't know that pink cherry blossoms came from the ornamental cherry trees and white cherry blossoms came from cherry fruit trees. How silly am I??
Another of the blooming Rhododendroms in the garden.

  1. Lovely photos. This is my favorite time of year, when Spring is just in bloom all over.

  2. Your Rhododendrons are both so pretty. The little white flower is Anemone blanda, commonly called a Windflower, they carpet deciduous forest floors and will clump out if left undisturbed. The Cherry blossom is really a Plum blosson with characteristic red leaves. It is commonly called a Cherry-plum because the fruit is rounder than a garden plum and red in colour but rather tart. It is a very pretty small tree.
